Police in Nsangi have recovered a stolen motorcycle and another motorcycle believed to have been used by criminals in an aggravated robbery targeting a boda boda rider in Wakiso District.
The incident happened on July 15, 2026, at about 9:00pm in Muzinda Cell, Nsangi–Kyengera Town Council.
According to police, the victim, a boda boda rider, picked up a passenger at Stabex Petrol Station in Nansana who requested transport to Nsangi.
Upon reaching Nsangi Police Station, the passenger reportedly directed the rider to take the Katereke–Muzinda Road route. While passing through a deserted and bushy section near the Mpigi Bypass, they found two unidentified men who had stretched a rope across the road in an apparent attempt to stop the motorcycle.
Police said the passenger immediately grabbed the rider by the neck, allowing the two men to pull him off the motorcycle before escaping with it. The passenger later fled into nearby bushes.
The stolen motorcycle, registration number UMA 895GN, was recovered hours later after it was abandoned in Kasenge Zone, Kikajo Ward, Kyengera Town Council.
Police also recovered another motorcycle, registration number UDJ 362B, a black motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspects during the robbery.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Public Relations Officer ASP Luke Owoyesigyire said investigations are ongoing to identify, trace and arrest the suspects involved in the attack.
