Shock and grief have engulfed residents of Seeta following the brutal killing of a medical specialist who was attacked by suspected robbers while returning home.
The victim has been identified as Dr. Mubiru Peter, a radiography specialist attached to Happy Doctor Clinic in Seeta.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police, the deadly incident happened on April 19, 2026 at about 7:00 PM in Bagala Zone, Goma Division, Mukono Municipality.
Luke Owoyesigyire the KMP Deputy spokesperson says Dr. Mubiru was ambushed by assailants riding on a motorcycle who attacked him and inflicted serious head injuries.
He was rushed to Mulago National Referral Hospital where doctors tried to save his life, but he was later pronounced dead.
Owoyesigyire confirmed the development on April 22.
He said the police quickly launched intelligence-led operations that have already resulted in several arrests.
The suspects currently in custody include Mususwa Abubaker, Olowo Joshua, Muyanja George and Basibu Umar.
Police believe the suspects could be directly linked to the violent robbery and killing.
Investigators are now working to recover exhibits that may have been used in the crime while awaiting the official postmortem report to establish the exact cause of death.
Owoyesigyire said more updates will be provided as investigations continue.
The killing has raised fresh concerns about motorcycle assisted robberies in areas around Mukono and the greater Kampala metropolitan region.
