A shocking accident has claimed the life of Ssenyonjo Bosco, a prominent businessman from Masaka, and his family members after his Toyota Land Cruiser (UBG 734S) overturned several times at Impala Interchange along the Entebbe Expressway early this morning.
SP Kananura Michael, the spokesman of the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety, said the vehicle was travelling towards Entebbe at around 6:30 a.m. when the driver lost control due to speeding. The car first smashed into the basement of a street light pole, then hit a road pillar before flipping repeatedly.
Three occupants, including Bosco and family members, died instantly. Two others survived but sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Traffic Police responded was able to rescue the injured and secure the scene. The deceased were taken to City Mortuary as investigations into the crash continue.
SP Kananura has called on all motorists to drive safely and obey speed limits, warning that reckless driving continues to claim lives on the roads.
