Panic and fear gripped Green Africa Bar and Restaurant early Tuesday morning after a cleaner was found dead in a pool of blood, allegedly shot by a mystery customer who was drinking and playing pool.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Racheal Kawala confirmed the shocking incident, saying police at Kampala Central Police Station are currently investigating the murder.
“The murder by shooting by an unknown person occurred this morning, the 20th of January at about 2.30 am at Green Africa Bar and Restaurant.” she said
Kawala identified the victim as Emma, a cleaner at the bar, who was found dead in the washroom.
“The victim has been identified as Emma, a cleaner at Green Africa Bar and Restaurant.” she added
According to Kawala, preliminary findings indicate that the killer is still at large, and was allegedly drinking and playing pool inside the bar at the time of the shooting.
“The deceased was allegedly shot by a yet-to-be-identified person that was allegedly drinking and playing pool at the bar.” She explained
The body was taken to KCCA Mulago City Mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
“The body of the deceased has been taken to KCCA Mulago City Mortuary for post-mortem.”
“Efforts are on to have the suspect identified and arrested… Investigations are still ongoing.”
