Nsangi Police Division have rescued 47 victims of alleged human trafficking following an intelligence-led operation conducted on 3rd December 2025.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SP Rachel Kawala says the victims, aged between 16 and 30, were reportedly trafficked from several upcountry districts, including Mbarara, Bushenyi, Kabale, Ntungamo, Mityana, and parts of the Busoga region. According to Kawala, the group was lured with promises of online job opportunities after undergoing supposed financial literacy training.
She says the rescue operation was made possible after one of the victims escaped from the camp and alerted authorities. Preliminary investigations have linked the recruitment to a company identified as Dream Visionaries, operating under Alliance in Motion Global. A search for the company’s director is underway.
Investigations further reveal that the company targeted vulnerable youths, charging a registration fee of 150,000 shillings. Once recruited, the victims were confined in small rooms and cut off from communication after their phones were confiscated for six days. After this period, each victim was handed a phone and instructed to call their family members, demanding 1.5 million shillings as “start-up capital.”
The rescued victims are currently receiving care and support at Nsangi Police Division as inquiries continue.
Kawala urged the public to remain vigilant against fraudulent recruitment schemes and promised continued operations to dismantle such networks.
