Findings indicate that this morning, Namyalo visited her mother in law and that she was there for a few minutes. Shortly she saw her co-wife going to fetch water. She used that time to rush into the house of her co-wife, Nakiyimba, where she found the baby. She strangled her to death, closed the door and started running away. However, she is seen by one Ibra, the uncle to the deceased who persuaded her while making an alarm that alerted the residents to arrest the suspect. She was arrested by residents and handed over to the Makulubita Police Post.

Regional Police Spokesperson Sam Twineamaziima confirmed the incident.

He says the body has been taken to Mulago for a postmortem examination as investigations into the matter continue.
