Five family members have died in a manner currently under investigation.
The police say that the incident occurred last night at Kijonjo, Kamwozi Parish, Buwunga in Masaka district.
Preliminary findings show that unknown assailants approached the said area and hacked five to death.
They are: Emmanuel Mutesasira, 57; Proscovia Ndagano, 52; Robert Kayemba, 2.5 years; Nakamya Nakavuma, 13; and Shivan Nakasaga, 5.
Regional Police Spokesperson SP Kasirye says the scene has been documented and 2 AK 47 cartridges retrieved. He adds that 2 female victims were raped and later killed.
By press time, their bodies were at Masaka Hospital for a postmortem examination.
