Our client, a leading plastics manufacturing company in Uganda, is seeking reliable and experienced Truck Drivers to transport finished plastic products and raw materials safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a valid driving permit, a clean driving record, and experience in logistics, preferably within the manufacturing or FMCG sector.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate company trucks to transport finished plastic products (packaging materials, containers, household plastics) and raw materials between factories, warehouses, and customer locations.
  • Ensure timely and secure delivery of goods while adhering to company schedules.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle (checking fuel, oil, brakes, tires, etc.).
  • Report any mechanical faults or accidents immediately to the logistics supervisor.
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the assigned truck.
  • Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
  • Verify and submit delivery documents (waybills, logbooks, invoices) accurately.
  • Assist in loading/unloading goods when required.
  • Maintain professionalism when interacting with clients, suppliers, and company staff.
  • Report any delivery discrepancies or customer complaints to management.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Valid Driving License with Classes C1, C1 E, C, CE, D1 and D1 E
  • Minimum 3 years as a truck driver, preferably in manufacturing, logistics, or FMCG.
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Ability to handle loading/unloading when necessary.
  • Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and Ugandan road safety laws.
  • Punctual, honest, and able to work with minimal supervision.
