Background

Coca-Cola Beverages Africa is the largest African Coca-Cola bottler, accounting for 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. In Uganda, we are currently seeking to recruit a Quality Assurance Quality Control, based at our Rwenzori Plant in Kampala.

As a Quality Assurance Quality Control, you will report directly to the Quality Assurance Technologist.

Key Purpose Statement.

To carry out analytical and microbiological quality tests, ensure adherence to company standards, and communicate non-conformances to maintain the quality and safety of raw materials, in-process products, and final packaged goods.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct analytical and microbiological tests on raw materials, packaging, in-process and finished products to ensure compliance with CCBA quality standards.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report process and product quality trends, promptly escalating deviations and non-conformances for corrective action.
  • Maintain laboratory systems and documentation, including equipment verification, retention sample control, consumable management, accurate data entry, and organized record-keeping.
  • Ensure full compliance with Food Safety, FSSC, GMP and CCBA Quality Standards across laboratory and production operations.
  • Support quality improvement activities including sensory evaluations, validations, quality studies, and trend analysis to drive continuous improvement.

Skills, Experience & Education

Qualifications.

  • Minimum requirement: Degree in Microbiology, Food Science & Technology, Biotechnology, Analytical Chemistry.
  • Strong technical understanding of microbiology, analytical chemistry, and quality systems within a fast-paced manufacturing FMCG environment.

Experience.

  • Minimum 2 years Quality Control experience in an FMCG environment, including microbiology.
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and quality testing procedures is desirable.
  • Ability to work shifts in a fast-paced production environment.

Competencies.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical decision-making, with ability to interpret trends and manage deviations.
  • Execution excellence and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaborative teamwork with cross-functional teams.
  • Resilient, energetic, and the able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Customer-focused with strong organizational skills.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and ability to support a strong quality culture.
  • Strong organizational skills and discipline in operational routines.
