Background information about the job or company (e.g., role context, company overview)

DEPARTMENT : UPSTREAM

Responsibilities or duties

1. Coordinate all phases of well completions, well testing and production operations in accordance with the Company policies and ensure regulatory compliance throughout the life cycle of a wellbore.

2. Design surface facilities including well completion systems like artificial lift and sand control systems and coordinate their installation.

3. Work with other project team members to determine the most efficient means to develop wells/fields and ensure that production goals and cost controls are met.

4. Analyze, interpret and optimize individual well performance. Employ various production surveillance techniques to monitor well productivity on a daily basis. Identify wells for production enhancements and recommend wells for recompletion and or abandonment.

5. Monitor daily, monthly, and annual production volumes, track well and facility performance KPIs, and investigate variances or deferments with the Operator.

6. Provide technical input to Field Development and Reservoir Management Plans to align production strategies with reservoir characteristics and recovery goals.

7. Review and validate the Operator’s production forecasts, profiles, and decline analysis for technical accuracy and compliance with approved work programs and budgets.

8. Prepare reports of unplanned shutdowns and slowdowns of facilities including root cause analysis

9. Evaluating and managing problems of fluid behaviour and production chemistry and recommending flow rate enhancement.

10. Participate in joint technical reviews with the Operators to address production performance, constraints, and optimization opportunities.

11. Evaluate production engineering proposals from operating partners to ensure technical integrity, compliance with company standards, and economic viability.

12. Monitor and analyze surface equipment performance and recommend appropriate engineering interventions.

13. Support the selection of prudent service providers to optimize costs of wells and surface facilities.

14. Act as the technical focal point for production matters in joint venture meetings and coordinate with internal multidisciplinary teams.

15. Collaborate with operating partners for operational optimization

16. Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor(s).

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

1) Bachelor's degree (Hons) in Engineering or Petroleum Geoscience from a recognized University.

a) Ability to work independently but also work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team environment.

b) Effective communication skills.

c) Should be a person of high integrity.

d) Analytical and critical thinking skills

e) Proven experience in the engineering field.

f) Great attention to detail and organizational skills.

g) High level of integrity

h) Demonstrable passion for own work and self-discipline

Experience needed

2) A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in the Oil and Gas Industry.

3) Substantial Experience in dynamic modelling of petroleum reservoirs, history matching and production data analysis using PETREL, AVOCET, OFM (or similar software).
