JOB DETAILS:

Job Summary: 

The Nurse/Counselor will provide general nursing care and counselling services to the students at The Aga Khan University. This will entail administering emergency medication when students are sick, dispensing prescription medications to students conducting CPR, and health assessments, and treating minor injuries such as cuts, scrapes, and bruises among others. Participate in developing and implementing counselling strategies for students at the university.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

a) Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing and diploma in Nursing / Midwifery
• Current License from Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council
• Certification in Basic Life Support
• Diploma in Guidance and Counselling Diploma in Clinical Psychology is an added advantage.

b) Experience

• 3 years of continuous experience in nursing.
• Evidence of ok knowledge of current practices in general nursing in a health facility.
• Prior experience working with adolescents and young people in a higher education institution is an added advantage.
• 2 to 3 years' experience in counselling.

Experience in Months: 36

Level of Education: bachelor degree
