Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.

On behalf of our client in the AGRI-BUSINESS sector, we are looking for a competent, skilled and experienced CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (VETERINARY), to work in Uganda.

Vacancies:1

Job purpose To provide strategic leadership, governance, and operational oversight for our client , aiming to secure and solidify our position as Leaders on the respective sectors, by ensuring sustainable growth, financial stewardship, exceptional Veterinary/animal health and agricultural services, strong client/customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance and value creation for shareholders and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

1. Strategic leadership and governance

  • Develop, refine and implement a unified strategic plan for both companies that aligns with shareholder objectives, market opportunities, and industry trends.
  • Lead the expansion of companies’ presence in Uganda by identifying new growth opportunities to enhance market presence and ensure successful execution of expansion plans.
  • Lead robust governance practices, risk management, and ethical standards across both entities.
  • Drive the evolution of product portfolios to meet market needs.

2. Financial management

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional leadership to develop and execute strategic plans, focusing on accurate business forecasting and the creation of commercial strategies to cultivate new revenue streams, customer relationships & partnerships, all in harmony with the companies’ strategic objectives and vision.
  • Own the P&L for both entities and drive revenue growth across services and products; oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, working capital optimization, and capital allocation.
  • Oversee financial controls and timely financial reporting to the Board of Directors.

3. Operations and service delivery

  • Ensure high-quality, compliant Veterinary and Agrivet services with consistent standards across companies.
  • Optimize supply chain, inventory management and supplier relationships for vet products feeds and equipment.
  • Oversee network performance, capex project delivery and key asset management.
  • Drive customer experience excellence, client retention and referrals through service quality metrics.

4. People, culture and leadership

  • Build, mentor and retain a high-performing leadership team to foster a high-performing culture, setting clear objectives and empowering team members to excel in their roles.
  • Oversee and drive effective collaboration with the various departments to ensure alignment of efforts towards achieving companies’ growth objectives.
  • Set and monitor performance metrics that drive revenue growth, profitability and market share.
  • Foster a safety-focused workplace with robust occupational health and safety practices.

5. Regulatory compliance and risk management

  • Ensure compliance with Veterinary, agricultural, pharmaceutical and business regulations in Uganda and other operating jurisdictions.
  • Oversee licensing, registrations, Veterinary practice standards (where applicable), feed and drug regulations, data protection, and anti-corruption compliance.
  • Identify and mitigate enterprise risks (operational, financial, regulatory, reputational, cyber).

6. Stakeholder engagement

  • Serve as the primary public face and brands ambassador for both brands; manage Board liaison, and key partner relationships (Suppliers, Clients, Farmer associations, Government, NGOs etc).
  • Lead our corporate social responsibility (CSR) agenda initiatives for alignment with animal health, Veterinary education and community welfare.
  • Represent the Organizations with industry bodies, at major national/international forums as appropriate and with regulators while staying abreast of regulatory requirements,

7. Technology and innovation

  • Champion digital transformation and systems across organizations.
  • Drive innovation in service delivery, product mix and process improvements.

Requirements

Educational qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Veterinary/Animal Science, Agriculture or a related field from an accredited University
  • Advanced qualification (MBA, Master’s Degree in related fields) is also preferred, demonstrating an understanding of the industry.
  • Certifications from globally recognized institutions will be an added advantage.

Specific experience, knowledge & skills required

  • At least 10 years of Senior leadership experience in health services, veterinary/agri-business or a related sector.
  • Prior CEO/MD experience strongly preferred, experience scaling multiple sites/regions and familiarity with regulatory environments in Uganda and East Africa is a plus.
  • Financial acumen: Proven P&L ownership, budgeting and financial management, experience with capital expenditure planning.
  • Operations and service delivery: Track record of building high-quality service networks, supply chain optimization and customer-centric operations.
  • People leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams, drive culture, succession planning and performance management.
  • Stakeholder management: Comfort engaging with Boards, regulators, partners and community stakeholders.
  • Technology mindset: Comfort with digital platforms, data analytics and process automation.
