Swangz Avenue has officially renewed its partnership with award-winning singer and songwriter Azawi, announcing a brand-new multi-album contract that cements one of the most influential artist–label relationships in modern Ugandan music.
Azawi, who joined Swangz Avenue in 2019, has spent the past five years redefining contemporary Ugandan sound through her sharp songwriting, unique sonic identity, and boundary-pushing artistry. The new deal signals the beginning of an ambitious creative chapter aimed at elevating her to even greater global heights.
Since her signing, Azawi has blossomed into a regional powerhouse. Her debut EP Lo Fit (2020) introduced hits such as Quinamino, Repeat It, and Crazy Lover, catapulting her into the East African spotlight. This success paved the way for her celebrated 2021 album African Music, hailed as one of Uganda’s most impactful projects of the decade.
Packed with smash hits including My Year, Slow Dancing, Majje, and Party Mood, the album showcased her versatility and earned her continental acclaim.
