NTV

The Serena based TV station, NTV can now cover events at State House and anywhere attended by H.E YK Museveni, the President of Uganda as their ban has been lifted. Their ban had so far run for over one and a half months.

NTV station camera men, during the budget reading session at Serena Suites captured a moment where the president was sound asleep. This didn’t go well with State House. From then, NTV was banned from covering any functions especially at Statehouse attended by the president. They banned NTV on grounds of lack of professionalism and biased coverage, and the statehouse press insisted that the experienced leader was merely meditating and not sleeping because it was his common habit to do that at many functions.

However, starting Thursday, 07th August, NTV will be allowed to attend and cover all functions even where the president will be. According to a press statement from the governments’ spokesperson Ofwono Opondo, “there has been a reinstatement of NTV coverage of President Museveni’s Functions.”
