We recently caught up with UK based Ugandan singer Divine B for a quick chat and here are the excerpts

Who is Divine B ?

Divine B is a female musician born Divine Buchanan on 20/04/2000 in Kampala Uganda

What’s your Education Level?

I am still in collage but by next year I will be through with school

Who writes your songs?

I write all my music, I am a good song writer

What are your biggest influences?

I literally don’t have any influences or people inspired me to start singing, I always loved music, and I knew one day I would become a singer

When did you discover you could actually sing?

Like I said, I loved singing when I was little but by then I didn’t have a nice voice until like when I was 15 I worked on It, got some vocal training and worked on my voice to be as good as it is right now

What are the challenges you have faced in the industry so far?

Well the biggest challenge is that most people say I am copying Winnie Nwagi’s but I can’t avoid it, we both tend to have similar body shapes and size but I think that’s natural I also didn’t choose to look kinda like her

Did your family support you or like the idea that you joined music?

They didn’t like it at all because by that time I was young and all they wanted me was to focus on school but later they released I am not ready to give up on my dream and instead they started supporting me, my dad has been so supportive

What’s your love life?

I don’t have a love life as yet

What are your favorite local artistes?

Wow they are so many but I think I will go with Cindy, A Pass, Y Kee Benda and Eddy Kenzo

What are your favorite local songs?

Well they are so many, Ugandans have a lot of good music but ok Property for Fik Fameica, Binkolera by Sheeba, Romance by Allan Toniks, Fire Dancer by Winnie and Ontagaza by B2C work for me

Where do you see yourself in Five years?

I see myself owning companies in my name, I want to be an entrepreneur, not only venturing in only music, but also in other businesses just like Rihanna

Anything else you would want your fans to know?

Yes, they should know I love them a lot, they should keep supporting me I have a lot of projects I am working on including collabos with to singers like Eddy Kenzo, Ykee Benda, Fille and Radio and Weasel among others
