Ugandan music star and Eddy Kenzo, who also serves as President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, has hit back at fellow artist Lil Pazo following claims that he and Bebe Cool have failed to assist struggling musicians. The remarks came after Lil Pazo met President Yoweri Museveni in Kisozi on March 1 to discuss the challenges facing local creators.

Speaking to the press, Kenzo rejected the accusations, insisting that he has always supported Lil Pazo in both personal and professional capacities.
He also clarified that funds distributed through musicians’ SACCO programs are not handed out to friends or favorites.
Kenzo recalled stepping in to help Lil Pazo during difficult times, including when he fell ill in Bombo. “I’ve been there for him long before holding any leadership role. When he was unwell, I made sure he got assistance, not as a leader, but as a fellow musician and brother,” Kenzo explained.
He also pointed out that while Lil Pazo aligned with Bebe Cool’s camp during campaigns, it was Kenzo who provided him and his team with accommodation and meals.
“Even within the Federation, I’ve tried to offer what support I could, though the scale of his ambitions, like buying a house or a car, goes beyond what we can provide,” he added.
Kenzo’s response comes amid growing debate over whether established artists are doing enough to uplift emerging talent. While Lil Pazo expressed dissatisfaction with the support systems in place, Kenzo maintains that significant backing has been extended wherever possible.
