Opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has appealed to security forces to vacate his home, saying his family members are living in fear and are being denied access to food.

Bobi Wine, who said he went into hiding on January 16 following the general elections over fears for his life, has continued to issue updates through his social media platforms. His latest remarks come amid escalating tensions with the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
On Monday, Bobi Wine engaged in a direct exchange of words with Gen. Muhoozi, who reportedly ordered him to surrender within 48 hours or be declared an outlaw.
In response, the National Unity Platform (NUP) leader said he would present himself when he deems it appropriate but insisted that the military must first lift what he described as an illegal siege on his home.
Bobi Wine accused security forces stationed at his residence of intimidating his family and blocking food supplies from reaching them, leaving those inside the compound starving.
“Last night, as Museveni’s son was making threats to kill me and gloating over the killing of 22 of our supporters — in reality, over 100 have been killed since last week — the military stationed inside our compound yet again banged on my house doors while singing profanities,” Bobi Wine said in a statement.
According to him, the soldiers ordered occupants to come out “if they are men” and appeared to be intoxicated at the time.
He further claimed that security personnel cut off padlocks from his gates and replaced them with chains, effectively trapping his family inside and preventing access to essential supplies.
“We demand that the military vacate our home immediately. My wife and the people at my home are not safe. They are starving after these criminals blocked food from reaching them,” he said.
Bobi Wine ended his statement with a renewed call for justice and democracy, declaring: “Free Uganda now.”
Security authorities are yet to issue an official response to the allegations.
