Word reaching our desk has confirmed that singer Richard Kaweesa has pitched camp at Africell head offices and chained himself like a dog!
According to legal documents we came across, the artiste is demanding that Africell (U) Ltd compensates him over UShs. 50M because of copyright infringement. He claims that while serving Uganda as Orange Telecom, in 2008, the company made unlawful gains from the use of his song “Ani Akuba Babie Wange”.
Before pitching camp at the Africell head office, he received clearance from the Police which okayed him to hold a peaceful demonstration within the frame of Public Order Management Law.
