Kate Lawler breaks down in tears as she opened up about her ‘turbulent’ battle with perimenopause in a new interview on Tuesday.
The 45-year-old presenter admitted that she has been ‘masking’ her true feelings by claiming she is doing OK with her health as she spoke to Dr. Naomi Potter on her Is It Hot in Here? podcast.
The former Big Brother star explained how she has ‘anxiety’ and feels ‘powerless’ as she just wants to be ‘the person I was before’.

Emotional Kate discussed her health, saying: ‘I get emotional talking about it. I always feel like it’s exhausting because having the job that I have, I constantly have to mask, I’m okay.
‘At the moment, I just feel like I’m not. I feel like I’m a nightmare to live with – I feel sorry for my husband.
‘I feel like I’m powerless and questioned everything I do, like, does anyone like me? Do my friends? I feel so lost with who I am.
Dr. Potter told Kate that she doesn’t ‘have to feel like this’, but the mother-of-one admitted she’s reluctant to go on HRT (hormone replacement therapy) – the traditional treatment for perimenopause.
‘I wish I just wasn’t so funny about the HRT, like, I wish I just listened to the menopause doctor’, she said.
Instead, Kate uses oestrogen-based moisturiser, because she’s ‘scared’ of HRT.
