Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco are preparing to welcome French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron for a two-day

Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco are preparing to welcome French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron for a two-day state visit to the Principality next month, amid heightened global interest surrounding the French couple.

The visit, scheduled for 7–8 June 2025, aims to reinforce the enduring diplomatic and cultural ties between France and Monaco.

The official confirmation came via the Monaco royal family’s Instagram account on Wednesday, accompanied by a throwback photo of Albert and Charlene taken ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony.

In a translated caption, the Palace shared: “Prince Albert and Princess Charlene will welcome Emmanuel Macron, President of France, and his wife Brigitte Macron on a state visit to the Principality on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 June 2025.
This visit is part of the strong and centuries-old bond of friendship between the two countries.”

A Diplomatic Itinerary with a Personal Touch

Following a private audience, the official state proceedings will take place within Monaco’s regal Throne Room. The following day, the Macrons will tour the SeaWergie site in Larvotto, known for its innovative marine-based wellness therapies.

Princess Charlene and Brigitte Macron will also co-host a “Water Safety” event, highlighting the vital work of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, which is dedicated to drowning prevention and lifesaving initiatives.

The visit underscores Charlene’s growing focus on humanitarian efforts, particularly those related to water safety and children’s well-being.

A Visit Framed by Viral Headlines

While the upcoming visit represents a formal and longstanding diplomatic tradition, it arrives against a backdrop of unusual public scrutiny. A video clip recently went viral showing Brigitte Macron appearing to lightly push her husband’s face as they disembarked from their presidential jet in Vietnam. The moment sparked intense speculation online.

Initial reports from the Elysée Palace dismissed the footage as AI-generated, but the French government later acknowledged its authenticity, calling it a sign of “closeness” between the couple.

The Macrons’ trip to Vietnam was part of a wider diplomatic mission, focused on deepening defence and aerospace ties — including negotiations involving Airbus.

Despite the media buzz, the upcoming state visit to Monaco is expected to be a highly choreographed affair, showcasing unity between two historically intertwined nations and offering a platform for Princess Charlene to advance her philanthropic work on the global stage.
